Having problems with your teeth can be very annoying. Two years ago I was involved in a bicycle accident. I was in college, and I lived very close to the university, so because of that I would ride my bike to the university every day. I was running late, and on this particular day I was very late, so I was driving my bike very quickly so I could get to the university on time. Unfortunately I did not always obey the traffic rules, and because of that, I was the main cause of the accident. I was going to be turning to the right, and I thought that there were no cars coming, so I made a mistake and I continued with my turn and there was a car that was turning as well. Thankfully the car saw me before it hit me, but I got so scared when I saw the car that I put my brakes on, I put my brakes on too quickly, and I was thrown 2 feet from my bike. The person who was in the car rushed over to help me up, and a lot of other pedestrians came over to make sure that I was OK as well. Unfortunately I had broken my nose, I busted my lip and I had cuts all over my face, because I landed right on the pavement. They asked me did I want them to call the ambulance, and I said no, but one of the drivers took me to the hospital.
I had to get a surgery on my nose, because I had broken the bone in it, and also I had to go to the dentist to get a dental bridge. The problem with my nose was quite annoying, but it was fixed within a few months, however the problem with my teeth was a lot worse. I never knew how embarrassing it would be to not have teeth until I had my bad experience.
Even though I went to the dentist right away to get my teeth bridge, the dentist told me that it was going to take at least a month for me to get my dental bridge made. For that entire month I did not want a go anywhere, I was so in embarrassed, and I did not want my friends to see me. I was even too embarrassed to see my boyfriend, but he would come over my house anyway. I felt like I was a prisoner of my own face, and I would have never have imagined and how horrible I was going to feel to be without teeth. When my dentist called me and told me that my dental bridges were ready, I went straight to his office and I got my teeth put in.
I felt so great when I got my teeth back because I felt like I could face the world again. I never thought that missing teeth could be so traumatizing, but my experience proves that missing teeth can really make a person feel horrible.
